Earlier, it was reported that three Uzbek citizens died as a result of an explosion at a scrap metal collection site in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan. The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan has issued a response regarding the incident.

“We would like to inform you with deep sorrow that three Uzbek citizens died as a result of an explosion that occurred on September 11, 2025, at the LGN Metal enterprise in the village of Bayserke, Ili district, Almaty region, Republic of Kazakhstan,” the agency’s statement said.

The Ili district police have launched a criminal case on charges of violating labor protection rules that led to loss of life. An investigation into the incident is underway. The Migration Agency has organized the necessary formalities for the repatriation of the victims’ bodies.

Employees of the territorial Migration Agencies have been mobilized to provide practical assistance to the relatives of the deceased. Constant cooperation has been established with the Kazakh authorities during the investigation. The Migration Agency also expressed its condolences to the families of the victims.

According to official information, an unidentified object exploded during the metal processing. The owner of the enterprise suggested that a mine may have been among the collected scrap. Forensic experts and representatives of the Ministry of Defense are working at the scene, and access to the site has been restricted. The victims, all citizens of Uzbekistan, have been identified as workers of the facility.

It is worth noting that earlier this year, three Uzbek nationals also died in a car accident in the Zainsk district of Tatarstan. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan confirmed the incident and reported that contact was established with local authorities to arrange the repatriation of the bodies.
