Uzbekistan announces six-day New Year holiday for six-day workers

16301Uzbekistan’s workforce operating on a six-day schedule will enjoy six consecutive days off during the New Year holidays. This was outlined in a resolution issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on December 24, titled “On establishing additional non-working days and shifting the day off during the New Year holidays.”
According to the resolution:
- Saturday, December 28 – Regular working day for six-day workers; day off for five-day workers.
- Sunday, December 29 – Regular day off for all.
- Monday, December 30 – Additional day off for six-day workers, and a day off for five-day workers (moved from Saturday, December 14).
- Tuesday, December 31 – Additional day off for everyone.
- Wednesday, January 1 – New Year's Day (public holiday).
- Thursday, January 2 – Day off for all (moved from Saturday, January 4).
