The Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection Committee has warned major retail chains of the importance of ensuring price stability for food products ahead of the New Year holidays.
According to the Committee, instructions have been sent to retail chains such as Korzinka, Makro, Havas, Baraka, Magnum, Assorti, B1, and Magnit to maintain stable prices for socially important food products that experience a sharp increase in demand during the holiday period. The guidelines require retail chains to promptly inform suppliers about any price changes, logistics costs, or other factors that could lead to price increases, as well as to warn suppliers against unjustified price hikes.
In addition, the Competition Committee had earlier reminded entrepreneurs of the need to comply with rules governing discounts and promotional campaigns during the New Year period.
