Starting September 25, Uzbek citizens will be able to travel to Jordan without a visa, confirmed by Ahror Burkhanov, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
According to him, the visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and Jordan will come into effect 30 days after the agreement is signed, that is, on September 25. Uzbek citizens will be allowed to stay in Jordan for up to 30 days without a visa.
It is noted that on August 26, following talks in Samarkand between Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Jordan’s King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, both sides agreed to mutually waive entry visa requirements.
It is worth noting that King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan arrived in Samarkand on a state visit on August 25. At the Samarkand airport, he was welcomed by Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During the visit, King Abdullah II, accompanied by President Mirziyoyev, toured the city’s magnificent historical monuments and, in the evening, visited the “Baqi City” historical-ethnographic complex, a center for international tourism in Samarkand. On August 26, the main events of the visit began with an official welcoming ceremony for the Jordanian monarch, followed by bilateral talks. The discussions concluded with the signing of a joint statement by President Mirziyoyev and King Abdullah II on strengthening partnership relations. During the visit, 15 bilateral agreements were signed. As part of the state visit, King Abdullah II presented President Mirziyoyev with Jordan’s highest honor, the “An-Nahda” (“renaissance”) order, personally awarding the medal to the Uzbek leader. After completing the visit, the King departed for Kazakhstan.
