Victory over China sends Uzbekistan’s youth team to FIFA U-17 World Cup

In the second round of the AFC U-17 Asian Championship hosted by Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan’s national youth team defeated their Chinese counterparts, securing early qualification for this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

The match began with China’s Zhang Chengrui opening the scoring. However, in the added minutes of the first half, Sadriddin Hasanov equalized for Uzbekistan. With just minutes left in the game, specifically in the 86th minute, Asilbek Aliyev scored the winning goal, ensuring victory for his team.

Under the leadership of Islom Ismoilov, Uzbekistan’s youth team clinched its spot in the World Cup ahead of schedule. In another group match, host nation Saudi Arabia defeated Thailand 3-1, joining Uzbekistan in securing World Cup qualification.

Uzbekistan’s next game will be against Saudi Arabia, scheduled for April 9. This match will determine the group winner.
