The World Weightlifting Championship has ended in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. The delegation of Uzbekistan won five medals at the competition.
On the last day of the tournament, the Olympic champion Akbar Jorayev from Uzbekistan in the +109 kg weight category was supposed to compete, but because Jorayev suffered a minor injury during the final training, the coaching staff did not want him to take the risk, and the athlete finished the World Cup without a medal.
The representatives of Uzbekistan took 6th place overall with 3 gold, 1 silver and bronze medals.
