A member of the 'Jihadchilar' movement, wanted in Uzbekistan for nine years, has been imprisoned for 6.5 years, as reported by UzA.

Abduhadiy Abdurakhmanov was apprehended by Turkish police in March 2023 and subsequently extradited to Uzbekistan, where he received a 6-year, 6-month prison sentence.

Abdurakhmanov initially traveled to Russia for work between 2010 and 2012, where he was influenced by a religious trend. Upon returning, he formed a 'jamaat' in Fergana, comprising his brother and several others, organizing meetings to engage in lectures, videos, and films associated with the extremist 'Jihadchilar' movement and other fanatical ideologies. He actively participated in these gatherings.

Previously, another Uzbek citizen, wanted internationally, was captured in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
