Uzbek driver was accused of sexual assault in Russia

7132A criminal case has been initiated against an Uzbek driver in St. Petersburg, Russia, on charges of sexual violence after he struck a six-year-old girl in the Nevsky district. This was reported by "Fontanka."
According to the report, the case was opened by the Investigative Committee. The incident occurred on August 30 when the girl was walking with her mother in the yard on Krylenko Street. A 22-year-old Uzbek citizen, driving a Volkswagen Polo, hit the girl while she was riding her bicycle. Later, a video surfaced on social media showing the man sitting next to the victim and touching her bare feet, along with other bystanders.
Preliminary information indicates that the suspect left Russia on September 2.
Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee, has ordered a criminal case against the suspect.
It is also worth noting that in a separate case, Uzbek citizens in Russia were previously sentenced to 10 and 11 years in prison for setting fire to a club they were denied entry to and for attempting to assassinate the security guards.
