Morocco wins match officiated by Uzbek referee

The Group C second-round match between Scotland and Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup ended today, June 20. Morocco won the match 1-0, which was officiated by Uzbek referee Ilgiz Tantashev.

The teams faced each other at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, the United States. The match was officiated by a refereeing team led by Uzbekistan’s Ilgiz Tantashev.

The only goal of the match was scored in the second minute by Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari. No further goals were scored in the remaining minutes.

For reference, in the first round of Group C, Scotland defeated Haiti 1-0, while Morocco drew 1-1 with Brazil. In the final round of the group stage, Scotland will face Brazil on June 25, while Morocco will play against Haiti on the same day.
