Smugglers attempting to transport 34 horses into Uzbekistan were caught in the Osh region of Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the National Security State Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The investigation, conducted by employees of the State Committee for National Security in the Osh region and border service officers of the Kok-Tosh section in Uzgen district on August 15, revealed that suspect B.T.J. collaborated with an Uzbek citizen named Habibulla. He purchased 24 horses from the livestock market in Uzgen, received a reward of 80,000 Kyrgyz som, and attempted to smuggle the animals into Uzbekistan through an unmonitored area of the border lacking engineering facilities.

Additionally, K.U.B., born in 1999, was apprehended at the scene in the village of Kara-Tobo, Aksi district, while trying to transport 10 horses. Under Kyrgyz law, the 34 horses seized will be confiscated by the state. The animals have been transferred to the border service to assist in guarding the state border.

We remind you that earlier in Bekobod, Tashkent region, a citizen of Tajikistan was caught attempting to transport 400 Central Asian desert tortoises from Uzbekistan.
