Chairman of the National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchibek Tashiyev, disclosed the details of the agreement on border delimitation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

At the meeting of the International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration Committee of the Supreme Council held on 10 October, Tashiyev informed that according to the outcomes of the signed agreement, Uzbekistan will receive 4485 hectares of land, and Kyrgyzstan will receive 19699 hectares of land.

According to him, the following lands were transferred to Kyrgyzstan:

• Govasay area - 12,949 hectares;
• Kok-Serek village in Ola-Boka district - 105 hectares;
• Bayastan village in Ola-Boka district - 212 hectares;
• Mount Ungar-Too - 35 hectares;
• Aktash village in Karasu district - 100 hectares;
• Kara-Beles village in Ola-Boka district - 25 hectares (formerly part of Uzbekistan);
• Part of Shahrikhonsoy - 19.5 hectares (the head of the channel is near Uzbekistan);
• Additional 500 hectares from Suzak district;
• Additional 500 hectares from Ozgan district;
• Orta-Tokay reservoir - 1,009.5 hectares (full);
• Birinchi May and Kokserek villages in Ola-Boka district - 1,307 hectares;
• "Aeroport", Jetigen and Kerben villages in Aksay district - 571 hectares;
• Shamaldisoy village in Nooken district - 1,088 hectares;
• Aravon district - 148 hectares;
• Kokdala and Pildirik areas of Kadamjoy district - 1,013 hectares.

According to Kamchibek Tashiyev, 4,485 hectares of land under the Kampirabad reservoir was transferred to Uzbekistan.  With the lowering of the horizontal water level from 908 meters to 900 meters, 1,246 hectares of land were freed and transferred to Kyrgyzstan.

“Previously, access to the Kampirabad dam was only for citizens of Uzbekistan. Now there will be a joint administration: four people from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.  For 70 years, Uzbekistan has independently decided on the use of water.  The citizens of Kyrgyzstan will now have the opportunity to freely use water: they will be able to water, feed livestock, fish, and even pump water. Uzbekistan cannot install engineering facilities,” says Tashiyev.

Uzbekistan received a total of 4,485 hectares and Kyrgyzstan 19,699 hectares.

“I can not say that we won, but we did not lose one meter. On the contrary, we got additional land, which is problematic.  Some people say that they got bad land, but in fact, it is a very good fertile land, there is even gold.  Uzbekistan then issued six licenses. Nevertheless, we took these lands”, - says the head of the National Security Service.

Following the ratification of the agreement, the map of Kyrgyzstan will increase by 15,806 hectares.

On 26 September, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov visited Kyrgyzstan and signed the border agreement.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov later said that official Bishkek took 99% of the disputed lands and did not give his lands to Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side is deeply silent on the issue of the border agreement.  There is no information on the change of borders.
