This year, 1.5 million women in Uzbekistan will undergo screenings for the early detection of cancer. The announcement was made on March 7 during a ceremony at the Kuksaroy residence in honor of International Women’s Day.

“Women’s health is the foundation of a strong and healthy society. To support this, 230 maternity hospitals across the country will be equipped with 21,000 state-of-the-art medical devices. Additionally, 1.5 million women will undergo screenings for early cancer detection this year,” President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated.

The president also highlighted the increasing popularity of physical education and sports among women, emphasizing their role in fostering a healthier society. To encourage this, 4 million women from various neighborhoods will participate in mass sports competitions this year.

“We must make one fundamental truth a rule of life: if women are healthy, families will be strong, the spiritual environment will improve, work ethic will strengthen, and confidence in the future will grow.

Today, we take pride in the fact that 40,000 families in our country serve as role models, with 208 of them receiving the ‘Ibratli Oila’ badge last year.

Take the Kuzibaev family from Toshlak district, for example. For 45 years, they have set an example for others. Mukaddamkhan, the head of the family, dedicated 35 years to educating the younger generation. Alongside her husband, she established a farm that has provided income for around 50 families in the district.

Moreover, this family has adopted more than 30 underprivileged families, ensuring their children receive an education and learn a profession.

Such exemplary families play a vital role in raising a well-rounded generation and combating poverty in our communities. I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to them—they are symbols of New Uzbekistan.

The more such families we have, the stronger our nation will be, and the more powerful our people will become. A strong family is the foundation of a just and exemplary society,” President Mirziyoyev said.

It was also reported that 50,000 women facing difficult life situations will be sent to peaceful locations for study and recreation each year. They will receive psychological support and attend motivational seminars on entrepreneurship. Kudratilla Rafikov, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, will oversee these initiatives.

Additionally, the Presidential Decree “On Measures to Improve the System of Monitoring Cancer Diseases Among Women,” adopted on November 22 last year, mandates the creation of an electronic database for women aged 30–65 in primary healthcare. This system will facilitate medical check-up invitations and provide state funding for cancer diagnosis and treatment expenses.

Presidential Assistant Saida Mirziyoyeva has pledged to personally oversee the implementation of the state program for cancer monitoring, approved by President Mirziyoyev.
