Another scholarship will be introduced in Uzbekistan

A “Scholarship of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan” has been established.  In this regard, yesterday, on 7 April, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decision “On measures to effectively organize state management in the field of youth policy and sports within the framework of administrative reforms” was adopted.

According to the document, the “Scholarship of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan” will be introduced from 1 July of this year.  In this:

•  The amount of the stipend is determined as 3 times the minimum wage;
•  Athletes awarded this scholarship are given the right to self-employment in accordance with the procedure established by the relevant decision of the President.
 Also, the amount of payments for athlete identification cards will be reduced by three times, and the period of their use will be set to 5 years.

In addition, according to the decision, the winners and prize-winners of Olympic and Paralympic, Asian and Para-Asian Games, world championships in Olympic and Paralympic sports (age categories), as well as the trainers who trained them, will be paid by the State Budget.  The amounts of incentives were approved at the expense of funds.

Olympic and Paralympic Games winners and prize-winners are given the right to use free medical services for life in medical institutions under the General Directorate of Medicine under the Presidential Administration.
