Starting from March 1, 16 licenses and permits for business entities will be canceled in Uzbekistan, as reported by the Ministry of Justice.

According to the presidential decree titled 'On measures to reduce mandatory requirements in the field of business and simplify licensing and permitting procedures,' 16 licenses and permits will be canceled, effective March 1, 2024. These cancellations include:

- Complete cancellation of 7 types of authorization documents. For instance, a permit for the transportation of goods will no longer be required upon entry into the register of customs carriers.
- Merger of 6 types of authorization documents. For example, the permit for the export of export control objects will be combined with the license for the export and import of special goods.
- Transfer of 3 licenses and permits to a notification procedure. For instance, engaging in travel agency activities will no longer necessitate a license.

Additionally, applicants for licenses or permits can now undergo remote assessments via video communication.

Furthermore, the requirement of a $15,000 reserve to the Safe Tourism Fund for outbound tourism has been canceled. Legal entities can now select the locations for the technical inspection of their vehicles, which were previously designated by internal affairs bodies.

This decree is anticipated to result in nearly 350 billion soums of savings for entrepreneurs.
