Activities of sports lawyers are organized in Uzbekistan

5037The draft decision “On measures to strengthen the protection of the legal rights and interests of athletes and trainers during their professional activities” was posted by the Ministry of Sports Development on the portal for discussion of draft regulatory legal documents.
According to the draft decision, in order to regulate sports-legal relations, protect the legal rights and interests of athletes and trainers during their professional activities, as well as to consider and resolve sports disputes, a separate sports law course will be established in higher education institutions. A faculty, department and scientific research centers will be established to train lawyers.
In particular, starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, the training of specialists in the field of jurisprudence (sports law) will be launched at the Tashkent State Law University.
The Faculty of Sports Law and International Sports Arbitration will be established at the Tashkent State Law University, and the following main tasks will be assigned to the faculty:
• Training of highly qualified legal personnel based on the in-depth study of sports law, including the law of international sports arbitration, as well as the systematic study of national and Japanese, German sports law and sports law of other developed foreign countries;
• Development of proposals for the implementation of international sports law norms and improvement of national legislation, taking into account the results of comparative studies of sports law and legal systems of Japan, Germany and other developed foreign countries;
• Exchange of professors and students with leading higher education institutions of foreign countries and internships are organized on a systematic basis for the purpose of comparative research of sports law and sports arbitration of foreign countries.
