The speed of high-speed trains in Uzbekistan will be significantly increased. This is reported by the press service of Uzbekistan Railways JSC.

According to the organization, representatives of the World Bank will help determine the scope of work required for "Uzbekistan Railways" and prepare an appropriate presentation.

"Representatives of the World Bank also want to participate in the development of the railway sector in Uzbekistan. This is directly related to the financing of the project," the report said.

According to information, the speed of trains will be increased to 300 km/h. Currently, "Afrosiyab" high-speed trains run at a speed of 255 km/h.

To achieve this goal, 4 methods were proposed - evaluation of passenger traffic, improvement of the quality of railway infrastructure and expansion of existing lines, expansion of the railway network, and preliminary feasibility assessment.

We remind you that starting from October 20 of this year, ticket prices for passenger trains on local routes will increase in Uzbekistan.
