Starting June 1, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to check into hotels without presenting a physical identity document, provided they book accommodation through the Unified National Tourism Platform and use the MyID system for identification. This initiative is part of a new Presidential Decree titled “On measures to increase the role and importance of tourism in the economy by sharply increasing the flow of tourists and rapidly expanding the scope of tourist services in 2025–2026,” signed on May 15.

According to the decree, from June 1, all state electronic systems and platforms related to the tourism sector will be developed under the framework of the Unified National Tourism Platform.

As part of the changes:

- Citizens of Uzbekistan booking accommodation online through the platform will be allowed to verify their identity via the MyID system without presenting a physical ID document.
- Accommodation providers connected to the platform will have the ability to identify guests using a QR code or facial recognition technology through their personal accounts.

By September 1, a list of ministries and departments required to establish information exchange via the platform will be approved. The platform is expected to integrate all key services for domestic and foreign tourists, including online hotel bookings, car rentals, taxi orders, ticket purchases for buses, trains, and airplanes, as well as access to museums, attractions, and guide services.

It should also be recalled that earlier announcements indicated that, until January 1, 2027, one-time subsidies will be provided to entrepreneurs for the construction and equipment of modular hotels comprising at least 10 modules.
