How many students are officially renting in Uzbekistan?

It is known that 83,018 students are officially living in Uzbekistan.  This was reported by the Press Service of the State Tax Committee.

As of 1 March of this year, the number of real estate lease contracts registered with the tax authorities was 307,063.

It is noted that the number of rental agreements concluded with students is 50,976, and the number of students officially living on rent is 83,018.

Income tax of 21.7 billion soms was calculated on the basis of 228,500 rental contracts concluded between individuals.  Compared to the same period last year, the number of rental contracts increased by 53.7% and the amount of income tax increased by 34.4%.

Income tax of 39.8 billion soms was calculated on the basis of 78.5 thousand rental contracts concluded between legal entities.  Compared to the same period last year, the number of rental contracts increased by 25.9% and the amount of income tax increased by 35.6%.

Taxpayer’s income from renting housing to students is exempt from tax.  They received 7.8 billion soms of income tax relief.
