8487By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, Shuhrat Muhamadjonovich Sodikov was appointed the deputy head of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported by UzA.
Shuhrat Sodikov was born in 1969 in Tashkent region. In 1992, he graduated from Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute. In 2004, he graduated from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, and in 2006 he received a master’s degree. In 2008, he graduated from the Academy of State and Society Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with a master’s degree in economics.
He started his career in 1992 as an engineer-economist of Jizzakh radiotelephone communication center. From 1993-1997, he worked as a technical director of computer equipment service and maintenance at the small enterprise “Nur”. From 1997 to 2002, he was an inspector, 1st category, 2nd category engineer, leading engineer of the State Communications Inspection and acting head of the Tashkent State Communications Inspection.
From 2004-2006, he worked as the chief specialist of the information-analytical department of information systems and telecommunications issues of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since 2006, he has worked as a deputy, and since 6 November 2008, as the general director of Uzbektelecom JSC.
On 25 March 2010, he was appointed to the position of the head of the information-analytical department of information systems and telecommunications issues of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since 1 August 2017, he has been the director of the National Project Management Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From 8 August 2018, he was appointed to the position of Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
By the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 4 November 2021, the minister was released from his post after the conflict related to the blocking of social networks in the country.
The fact is that on 3 November 2021 at around 19:30 p.m. in Uzbekistan messengers and social networks such as “Moy Mir”, “Odnoklassniki”, “Youtube”, “Facebook”, “Telegram”, “Instagram” and “Linkedin” interruptions in the activity began to be observed. Later, it became known that the State Inspectorate for Supervision in the field of Information and Telecommunications included these platforms in the register of violators of the rights of Personal Data subjects.
Soon after that, the restriction on the activities of these networks was officially cancelled. Golibsher Meliboyevich Ziyayev, the head of the state inspection for control in the field of information and telecommunications, the organization that established the restriction, was released from his position by the decision of the Prime Minister.
After all the work was completed, the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications Development issued an official statement saying that the interruptions were caused by a malfunction in the equipment of “Uztelekom” AK. The statement was deleted shortly thereafter.
