On August 5 at 18:44, a 6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Kyrgyz Republic, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Monitoring.
The epicenter was located 292 kilometers northeast of Tashkent. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2, occurred at a depth of 15 kilometers, and was centered in the Kyrgyz Republic. The coordinates of the epicenter were 41.33°N latitude and 72.71°E longitude. The intensity at the epicenter was measured at 6 points.
The earthquake was also felt in several regions of Uzbekistan:
In the Andijan region: 3–4 points (68 km from the epicenter)
In the Namangan region: 3 points (96 km)
In the Fergana region: 2–3 points (131 km)
Some residents of Tashkent also reported on social media that they felt the tremors.
It is worth noting that earlier, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake was also recorded in Kyrgyzstan.
