New administrative buildings to be constructed for local governments in Uzbekistan

New administrative buildings will be built for district and city local government bodies across Uzbekistan. This is stated in the government resolution “On measures to implement business projects on the sites of buildings and facilities of local government bodies through their optimal relocation in selected districts (cities) chosen for rapid comprehensive development.”

According to the resolution, and in line with the Presidential Decree “On implementing practical measures in selected districts (cities) for the rapid comprehensive development of the regions of the Republic” dated April 1, 2025:

  •  Development programs for selected districts and cities for 2025–2026 have been approved.
  •  A list of local government bodies in districts and cities that will be optimally relocated to a single location has been confirmed.

Once the new administrative buildings are commissioned, their first and second floors will be prioritized for commercial and service activities and leased out through online electronic auctions on the “E-auksion” platform in accordance with established procedures.

As part of the design, construction, and landscaping of the new administrative buildings for district and city local governments:

  •  The “Single Customer Service” engineering companies under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regional khokimiyats have been designated as customers.
  •  The main design and contracting organizations will be selected in accordance with legislation.

The development of design and estimate documentation, as well as construction, installation, and landscaping works for the new administrative buildings, must be completed by December 1, 2026.

It is worth noting that earlier, the position of Advisor to Khokims on Spirituality and the State Language was introduced in Uzbekistan.
