6768Shamsi Samadzoda, an Azerbaijani businessman who spent 22 years in an Azerbaijani prison and was arrested in Uzbekistan at the end of last year, has been released. This was reported by the Azerbaijani publication "Gunun sesi".
It is noted that Shamsi Samadzoda was released a few days ago. However, the reasons for the arrest were not disclosed.
"The main thing is that I am free. There will be problems where there is work," the businessman told the publication, refusing to give additional comments.
For information, Shamsi Samadzoda was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Serious Crimes Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 29, 2000, but was released in 2022 by a pardon decree of President Ilham Aliyev.
It should be recalled that yesterday, on January 22, it was reported that a criminal group that had been extorting money from Azerbaijanis was detained in Tashkent.
