April declared “Amir Temur Month” in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan will widely celebrate the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth. In particular, every April will be designated as “Amir Temur Month.” This was stated in the decree signed today, February 6, by the President of Uzbekistan, titled “On the Wide Celebration of the 690th Anniversary of the Birth of the Great Statesman and Commander, Patron of Science, Culture, and Art, Amir Temur.”
According to the decree, celebrations this year will mark the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth. Each April, educational institutions and local communities will host meetings featuring scholars of Temur studies, writers, and artists.
A roadmap extending until 2030 has been approved, which includes the following initiatives:
- Holding an international scientific conference on April 9–10 at the Center of Islamic Civilization on “The Role and Significance of Amir Temur and the Timurid Civilization in World History and Culture.”
- Publishing an annotated edition of the work “Temur Tuzuklari” in Persian, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish, and Russian.
- Creating book-albums titled “100 Rare Manuscripts of the Timurid Period” and “100 Rare Treasures of the Timurid Period.”
- Establishing an electronic platform dedicated to sources from the Timurid era.
A committee has also been approved to organize and prepare events dedicated to the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur’s birth.
