New agreements strengthen Uzbekistan-Malaysia partnership

6023Today, February 5, at the end of fruitful negotiations in Kuala Lumpur, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim signed a joint statement on deepening bilateral cooperation towards a strategic partnership. The press service of the President reported this.
The following documents were also adopted:
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of assessing the compliance of products with "halal" standards;
- Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of forensic expertise;
- Agreement on academic-diplomatic cooperation;
- Protocol on cooperation in the development of "smart" cities;
- Joint plan for deepening partnership in the fight against corruption in 2025-2026.
We would like to remind you that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Malaysia on an official visit yesterday evening, February 4. At the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Head of State was met by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Malaysian Parliament, Johari bin Abdul, the Minister of Education, Zambri Abdulkadir, and other officials. The President held a meeting with the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament at the airport.
Today, February 5, an official welcoming ceremony for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was held at the Perdana Putra government complex in Kuala Lumpur. Here, Mirziyoyev and Ibrahim held talks in a narrow circle and with the participation of official delegations.
