The launch of bus services between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is delayed

The launch of a regular international bus route between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has been delayed. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport.  
It is noted that in accordance with the protocol of the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Prevention of Coronavirus Infection in Kazakhstan, quarantine restrictions have been introduced in a neighboring country.

«Currently, negotiations are underway with the relevant ministries and departments of Kazakhstan on the resumption of the traffic of international passenger trains and regular bus services between the two countries», – a report says.

It should be recalled that the international bus route between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was suspended on 16 March 2020, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
It was announced that the Nukus-Beyneu-Nukus 647/648 would be launched on 1 April this year.  However later, on the initiative of the neighboring state, the launch of routes was postponed.

Also, on 15 March, the Republican special commission held a meeting on additional measures to be taken to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus infection in the territory of Uzbekistan and to ensure sanitation and the epidemiological well-being of the population and the resumption of international passenger rail transport between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as bus services on a parity basis in strict compliance with the requirements of quarantine was announced on it.
