Another agreement has been signed between the Governments of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which is currently being held in Tashkent, an Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to regulate the activities of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia." This information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry of Uzbekistan.


The document was signed by the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, on behalf of Uzbekistan, and Arman Shakkaliyev, the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, on behalf of Kazakhstan.


The center's objectives include:


•    Creating favorable conditions for the development of interstate cooperative relations and international value chains.
•    Increasing the efficiency of using the production base in border regions.
•    Optimizing and modernizing production processes within the center, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of industrial enterprises.
•    Expanding industrial cooperation between the two countries and establishing the production of import-substituting products, among other tasks.


The Economic Cooperation Organization is a regional interstate economic structure that includes Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. The organization was founded in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey, and its permanent secretariat is located in Tehran.
