5347From September 10 to 14, the "Ashiq Aspan-2024" international operational-tactical command-staff training exercise is being held, with the participation of servicemen from the Air Forces of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as air defense specialists. This was reported by the press service of the relevant government office.
The exercise aims to improve the coordination of the military command bodies of the two friendly countries, address the joint use of air defense forces and equipment, and provide commanders with practical skills to manage military units during special combat duty situations.
The training involves frontline helicopters, army, and military transport aircraft, as well as air defense forces' equipment. Air Force pilots are also flying in the airspaces of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan during the exercise. The "Ashiq Aspan-2024" training is being conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant General Dauren Kosanov, commander of Kazakhstan's Air Defense Forces.
"We regularly conduct such exercises, which enable military personnel from friendly countries to jointly perform air defense missions, coordinate combat crews, and gain practical experience to strengthen the defense capabilities of our nations," Kosanov said.
A special focus of the exercise is on developing procedures for cooperation between the Air Defense Forces' combat crews and command posts in neighboring countries—Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan—in the event of border violations or unauthorized use of airspace.
It is worth recalling that earlier, the joint anti-terrorist exercise "Sharq-Aksilterror-2024" was conducted at the State Security Service's military range in Uzbekistan, with support from the CIS Counter-Terrorism Center.
