Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan meet in Almaty

2236As part of the Uzbek government delegation’s visit to Almaty, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov met with Odilbek Kosimaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, on January 31. The meeting was reported by the Government of Uzbekistan portal.
Discussions focused on the strengthening of strategic partnership between the two countries, built on principles of friendship and good neighborliness, as well as the implementation of key joint projects.
"The heads of our states, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Sadyr Japarov, have set specific tasks for our governments to further develop bilateral relations. Special attention was given to close cooperation in fulfilling these directives," the report stated.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of agreements in several sectors, including trade and economy, transport and logistics, energy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, and cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
Earlier, Prime Ministers Aripov and Kosimaliev, along with Tajikistan’s Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, held a trilateral meeting in the border region where Batken (Kyrgyzstan), Fergana (Uzbekistan), and Sughd (Tajikistan) meet. The discussions were held within the framework of previously reached agreements on state borders.
