The Readmission Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of France has been officially approved. On July 8, a Presidential Decree titled “On the Ratification of the International Agreement” was signed to formalize the decision.

The agreement was initially signed in Paris on March 12, 2025.

According to the decree, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has been designated as the authorized body responsible for implementing the terms of the agreement. The Cabinet of Ministers, along with the heads of relevant ministries and departments, will oversee its execution in accordance with established procedures once the agreement enters into force.

For reference, readmission refers to a state's obligation to accept the return of its own nationals—as well as, in some cases, third-country nationals or stateless persons who previously resided there—when they are found to be staying illegally in another country, have overstayed their visas, or are subject to deportation.
