Uzbekistan's starting lineup against Oman announced

Today, August 30, Uzbekistan and Oman will face each other at the Olimpiya Stadium in Tashkent as part of Group A of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025. The Uzbekistan national team lineup for the match has been announced.

The two teams have met three times previously. In two friendly matches in 2014, the Uzbekistan national team, led by Mirjalol Kasimov, lost both games 0:1. Later, in the group stage of the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, the Uzbekistan national team, led by Hector Cuper, defeated Oman 2:1. Overall, the head-to-head record currently stands 2:1 in favor of Oman.

The current head coaches, Timur Kapadze of Uzbekistan and Carlos Queiroz of Oman, have faced each other once as coaches. This occurred in a 2018 friendly match between Iran and Uzbekistan, which Queiroz’s team won 1:0.

Uzbekistan is currently ranked 55th in the FIFA rankings, while Oman is ranked 79th.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
