Uzbekistan FA confirms Khusanov’s absence from upcoming tournament

Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov will miss the CAFA Nations Cup due to injury, the Football Association of Uzbekistan has confirmed.
The injury occurred on August 31 during Manchester City’s match against Brighton, when Khusanov began to feel discomfort. Medical examinations later revealed a minor injury to his left calf muscle.
According to team doctors, Khusanov will require around two weeks to recover and has been ruled out of the upcoming tournament.
Manchester City were defeated 2-1 in the match. Khusanov left the field in the 85th minute, and Brighton scored their second goal four minutes later. In a post-match press conference, head coach Pep Guardiola praised Khusanov, suggesting he could have prevented the goal had he remained on the pitch.
On August 30, Uzbekistan played to a 1-1 draw against Oman in the CAFA Nations Cup.
