Uzbekistan spends 50 billion soms on the promotion of tourism products

3310The Uzbekistan government has taken a major step towards rapidly developing the country's tourism potential and increasing the number of foreign and local tourists. The Presidential Decree titled "On additional measures to rapidly develop Uzbekistan's tourism potential and further increase the number of local and foreign tourists" has announced the allocation 50 billion soms in 2023 to promote Uzbekistan's tourism products abroad.
The decree highlights that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the relevant ministries and agencies, will ensure the operation of museums and theaters on weekends and holidays. This move is expected to provide tourists with more opportunities to experience the country's rich cultural heritage.
Furthermore, by 1st of June 2023, the task of approving the procedure for covering the costs of advertising national tourism products and services on internationally prestigious tourist and marketing platforms has been set. This initiative is aimed at raising awareness about the country's unique and diverse tourism offerings to attract more foreign visitors.
The decree also notes that funds allocated annually from the state budget to the Tourism Support Fund for the promotion of Uzbekistan's tourism products in foreign tourism markets will now be allocated to implement the tasks assigned to the "National PR Center" under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. This move is expected to enhance the effectiveness of tourism promotion activities and bring greater visibility to Uzbekistan's tourism potential on the global stage.
