23676A new visa is set to be introduced for entry into Khorezm. The "Uzbekistan - my second home" visa system will allow tourists unrestricted access to Khorezm for a year. This announcement was made today, March 1, during a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focusing on the region's socio-economic development priorities.
The president announced the adoption of a three-year program aimed at boosting tourism, a key driver of Khorezm's economy. He emphasized that revenue generated by the Tourism Support Fund will remain within Khorezm for three years. However, concerns were raised about the shortage of hotels in several districts during the meeting.
Currently, loans are available at an 18 percent interest rate for seven years, with a two-year grace period, to support the construction of hotels and resorts and to increase available accommodations.
Furthermore, there are plans to establish the "Lazgi" and "Avesto" museums in Urganch.
Additionally, it was mentioned that promoting Khorezm cuisine could attract foreign tourists, but there has been a lack of effort in promoting these dishes domestically and internationally.
To address this issue, the importance of launching 24-hour restaurants, cafes, and food stalls in Khiva was highlighted.
