The MFA of Uzbekistan extended its condolences for the tragic floods in China and Brazil

3480The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed its sympathy for the floods that resulted in the loss of numerous lives in China and Brazil. This sentiment was conveyed through a post on the social media page of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
"We received with profound sadness the news of the devastating impacts of the heavy rainfall, which claimed the lives of many individuals in China and Brazil. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish a swift recovery to all those injured," stated the minister.
In Brazil, as of April 29, heavy rains resulted in the deaths of 29 individuals, with 60 others reported missing. The southern state of Rio Grande do Sul was particularly affected, with over 150 cities experiencing the brunt of the natural disaster, leaving 10,000 people homeless. More than 500,000 households were without access to water, and over 300,000 residences were left without electricity.
In China, significant flooding occurred in the latter part of April. Due to intense rains in Guangdong province in the southern region, authorities were compelled to evacuate 110,000 residents from densely populated areas. The overall damage from the flooding surpassed 140 million yuan (approximately 19 million US dollars).
