Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves reach record levels

Gross international reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan as of 1 May of the current year amounted to 35 billion, 900.8 million dollars.  They have increased by $744.8 million compared to April. This was reported by the Central Bank.

The physical balance of gold in reserves totals 11.1 million troy ounces.  Its financial value has increased from $20.8 billion to $21.3 billion.

International reserves include foreign exchange reserves, special borrowing rights, reserve position in the International Monetary Fund, and gold.  Foreign currency mainly contains cash held in banks.

For reference, the gross international reserves of the Republic of Uzbekistan increased to $761.6 million, or 2.2% at the beginning of 2022.  The price of gold rose from $1,799.25 at the beginning of the year to $1,915.45 forming the assets the value of $1.3 billion.
