Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Norway

The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Norway, Rahmatulla Nurimbetov (based in Stockholm), presented his credentials to King Harald V on May 15. This was reported by "Dunyo".
During the conversation following the ceremony, the current state and future prospects of Uzbek-Norwegian relations were discussed, covering political, trade-economic, investment, technological, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
It was noted that there is significant potential to expand bilateral cooperation in key areas such as combating the effects of climate change, developing green energy, reducing poverty, and increasing the role of women and youth in society.
For reference, diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Norway were established on June 10, 1992. Rahmatulla Nurimbetov visited Stockholm on October 15, 2024, as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Sweden and presented his credentials to King Carl XVI Gustaf on December 4.
It should also be recalled that the newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Estonia, Temur Rakhmonov (based in Riga), presented his credentials to Estonian President Alar Karis on April 16 of this year.
