As part of the new measures, eight Russian media outlets were sanctioned, while 13 regional Russian banks, which the EU considers part of Russia’s “critical financial and banking systems,” were disconnected from the SWIFT system. Additionally, the EU imposed restrictions on 53 companies accused of supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex or assisting in sanctions evasion. Of these, 19 are based in Russia, while the remaining 34 are located in third countries. The sanctioned companies include:

  • 25 from China;
  • 2 from Hong Kong;
  • 2 from India;
  • 2 from Kazakhstan;
  • 2 from the UAE;
  • 1 from Uzbekistan;
  • 1 from Turkey;
  • 1 from Singapore.

From Uzbekistan, the company Uzstanex has been added to the sanctions list. According to the Unified State Register, Uzstanex was established in July 2018 and specializes in the wholesale trade of mechanical machine tools. The company is located in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent and has an authorized capital of 65 million soums. The sole founder is Vasily Vitalevich Abramov, while Dmitry Aleksandrovich Boysov serves as the company’s director.

Notably, in the fall of 2024, the United States and the United Kingdom had also imposed sanctions on Uzstanex.
