Uzbekistan ranked 30th among 127 countries for the cheapest fuel as of September 14 this year, according to the Ranking.kz.

The top five countries with the cheapest fuel include Libya, Egypt, Kuwait, Algeria, and neighboring Kazakhstan. The highest prices were recorded in Myanmar, Hong Kong, and Iceland.
Among the CIS countries, several have cheaper gasoline than Uzbekistan. These include Kazakhstan ($0.46 per liter), Azerbaijan ($0.67), Russia ($0.72), Belarus ($0.76), and Kyrgyzstan ($0.82).
Conversely, gasoline is more expensive in Tajikistan ($1.11 per liter), Armenia ($1.36), Ukraine ($1.38), and Moldova ($1.44) than in Uzbekistan.

Currently, among 397 cities worldwide, Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, ranks 90th for the cheapest gasoline, with an average price of $0.99 per liter. Among the CIS cities included in the ranking, the lowest prices were recorded in Astana ($0.46), while the highest were in Chisinau ($1.44).

Currently, the most expensive cities for gasoline in the world are Hong Kong, Reykjavik, and Amsterdam, while the cheapest are Tripoli, Algiers, Alexandria, Cairo, and Kuwait city.
It is worth noting that the Global Petroleum Prices published a list of countries with the cheapest gasoline on November 25 last year. At that time, Iran, Libya, and Venezuela had the lowest gasoline prices. In Uzbekistan, the price of one liter of gasoline was recorded at $0.99. In Central Asia, the cheapest fuel was sold in Turkmenistan ($0.42) and Kazakhstan ($0.49). No information was provided on gasoline prices or the global ranking for Tajikistan. In Russia, one liter of gasoline cost $0.57. The changes in gasoline prices are largely explained by differences in national fuel taxation systems and subsidy policies.
