During the visit of the government delegation of Belarus Republic to Tashkent, representatives of Belarus and Uzbekistan signed agreements worth $25 million.  This was stated by the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.

«As a result of the delegation’s visit to Tashkent, trade agreements worth more than $25 million were signed, and most of them are in the sphere of mechanical engineering», – Belarus Minister stated this during the interview with local media reporters.

According to the Belarusian Prime Minister, demand for the MAZ chassis was high in Uzbekistan.

«These sets include fire and rescue equipment, tanks and reservoirs for transportation of water, oil products, etc. We will increase the supply», – Golovchenko added.

From the perspective of Belarus Minister, both parties need to complete the establishment of transport and logistics schemes in order to avoid unnecessary intermediation in the supply of goods.

“Uzbek cabbage is now appearing in our trade agreements.  However, the price is expensive, because it is not delivered directly, but through third countries, for instance, shipping bases in Russia.  If we deliver beef products to the market of Uzbekistan, why shouldn’t the trucks go back to the country, taking the cabbages, red peppers, tomatoes and other products of Uzbekistan?”- Golovchenko said.

For reference, yesterday, 25 April, Golovchenko met with Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to discuss the possibility of increasing the supply of products from Uzbekistan, which can replace the goods included in the US and Western sanctions list.

He also met with the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the reports of Belarus side, in 2021, trade turnover volume between the two countries amounted to $301.9 million, performing an increase of 7.8% compared to 2020.  The exports of Belarus amounted to $245.4 million.
