3744Uzbek citizens deported from the United States will be repatriated via the New York-Tashkent route, according to Ahror Burhonov, press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
He stated that Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Washington and the Consulate General in New York have been working closely with U.S. law enforcement agencies for years to ensure the safe return of deported Uzbek nationals.
“As per our agreements, the American side promptly notifies us of every case of deportation involving our citizens. By established practice, these individuals will return to Uzbekistan via the New York-Tashkent route,” Burhonov said.
Additionally, Uzbekistan has engaged in diplomatic talks with Latin American countries regarding the deportation issue.
“We are closely monitoring media reports regarding the possible deportation of Uzbek citizens to other countries. Our diplomatic missions have formally requested information on this matter from the U.S. government. Moreover, we have established contacts with Latin American nations through diplomatic channels,” he added.
Earlier, reports surfaced that Uzbekistan had formally inquired with the U.S. government about the deportation of Uzbek immigrants to Panama via military aircraft.
