Uzbekistan recently dispatched humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, as reported by the Surkhandarya regional government.
Today, April 25th, a delegation led by Surkhandarya region's governor, Ulugbek Qosimov, departed for Afghanistan's Balkh region to deliver aid on behalf of Uzbekistan.
The aid, consisting of 48 tons of flour, 48 tons of wheat, 15,000 liters of vegetable oil, 10,000 units of canned meat, 24 tons of sugar, 22 tons of pasta, and 100,000 units of packaged lagmon, was loaded onto eight trucks.
A ceremony for the handover of the aid will take place today in Hayraton, with officials from both countries in attendance.
It's worth noting that on October 7, 2023, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck western Afghanistan, claiming over 2,400 lives. Uzbekistan responded by sending nearly 100 tons of aid to assist those affected by the disaster.
