The Government of Uzbekistan signs another document with Gazprom

A strategic memorandum on cooperation in the energy sector was signed between the Russian public joint-stock company "Gazprom" and the government of Uzbekistan. This was reported on the "Gazprom" website.


It is noted that a working meeting was held between the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, and the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Jorabek Mirzamahmudov, as part of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.


"At the meeting, Alexey Miller and Jorabek Mirzamahmudov signed a strategic memorandum on cooperation in the energy sector. According to the document, the parties intend to develop cooperation in the areas of gas supply and transportation, as well as geological exploration and hydrocarbon extraction," the report said.


The parties also discussed the delivery of Russian gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan, which began in October.


It should be noted that Uzbekistan negotiated medium- and long-term gas supply contracts with Gazprom.


For information, on October 7 of this year, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the leader of Kazakhstan, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, initiated the delivery of Russian gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.
