Uzbek soldiers do not participate in hostilities abroad – Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan states

The Republic of Uzbekistan, including Uzbek military personnel, does not take part in hostilities abroad. False rumors about the recruitment of military personnel by foreign States in Uzbekistan are unfounded. The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan reports this.

It was noted that, in accordance with Article 125 of the Constitution, the armed forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan are formed to protect the State sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the peace and security of the population. The structure and organization of the National Armed Forces will be determined by law.
According to the Defense Doctrine, the defense policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan is based on the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of other States and the peaceful settlement of possible conflicts.

The criminal code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (article 154-1) provides legislation for conscription into military service, service in external security agencies, the police, military justice or other similar bodies.
“In view of the foregoing, the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the military forces and personnel, will not take part in hostilities abroad. The spread of the false information that conscription has been launched in Uzbekistan by the foreign states has no factual basis” – the report says
