UzAuto Motors appoints Janos Kovacs as new CEO

By decision of the Supervisory Board of UzAuto Motors, Janos Kovacs has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. The announcement was made via the official Telegram channel of the joint-stock company.

Kovacs, a native of Hungary, holds a degree in automotive engineering from the Budapest Technical University.

Recognized as a senior figure in the global automotive industry, Kovacs brings years of experience in top leadership roles at major companies, including General Motors, Opel, GM Powertrain Uzbekistan, UzAuto Peugeot Citroën Automotive, and VinFast Automotive. Throughout his career, he has overseen quality management, production process optimization, and the operation of automotive manufacturing plants.

Notably, Kovacs has served as a member of the Supervisory Board of UzAuto Motors and as a member of the company’s audit committee since 2021.

For reference, Bo Andersson, who led UzAuto Motors for over three years, stepped down in December 2024. Following his departure, Odiljon Bastamkulov served as the acting CEO.
