12947The governor of the city of Tashkent Jahongir Ortikhodjaev has given 10 days to complete the repair of potholes on capital roads. He stated this at a meeting on 13 April.
“Winter was not so bad, but the city of Tashkent has not seen such precipitation for the last 50-60 years. The condition of the asphalt in the city became clear after the rain: large potholes have appeared. This has provoked strong protests from citizens. »
Ortikhodjaev instructed Anvar Umarov, the head of the General Directorate of City Beautification, to eliminate potholes within 10 days.
“Anvar aka (brother), within 10 days together with the governors (khokims) of the districts, and the administrations, you should utilise all equipment from private enterprises existing in Tashkent, and everything belonging to your department. The deadline is 10 days. Within 10 days, you must completely repair the main streets and highways. I understand it is difficult. We have a big city, but you have to take responsibility. If necessary, you should organize work at night. » – the governor said.
Ortikhodjaev addressed the officials from the departments of Internal Affairs and called on them to ensure the order and safety of traffic on repaired roads.
«The officers of Road Patrol Service also need to understand the responsibility and they need to control the area being repaired and make it more accessible to people. It is unforgivable if it exceeds 10 days. The prosecutor should ensure that the funds are not misused and that they are of good quality. No pit should be left undone, poor quality will not be accepted. Work must be of good condition», –Jahongir Ortikhodjaev said.
The governor instructed work take place and be organized in the evening as much as possible, when there will be less traffic.
