Mirziyoyev inspects Zomin Technopark projects with Artikhojayev’s involvement

Today, July 22, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Jizzakh region. This was reported by the Presidential press service.

During the visit, the Head of State toured the special industrial zone “Zomin Technopark,” reviewed presentations of new projects planned in the area, and inspected the construction of a household appliances plant in the district.

Photos released by the Presidential press service show that the plant was presented to Mirziyoyev by Jahongir Artikhojayev, a well-known businessman and former khokim of Tashkent. According to the report, the plant in Zomin will produce one million household appliances and components annually, including washing machines, refrigerators, televisions, and electric water heaters.

Additionally, the industrial park plans to manufacture plastic products for enterprises under JSC “Avtosanoat.”

Jahongir Artikhojayev served as the khokim of Tashkent from 2018 to 2023. He was personally criticized by President Mirziyoyev during a meeting on energy supply held on January 16, 2023, accused of “losing touch with the reality on the ground,” and subsequently dismissed from his post. Following his dismissal, Artikhojayev refrained from attending government events for an extended period.

By 2024, however, he gradually returned to public state functions. For instance, he participated in the President’s meeting with entrepreneurs in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and took part in a business dialogue attended by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

It should also be noted that in May of this year, the Corporate Sports Association of Uzbekistan was established, with Jahongir Artikhojayev elected as the Deputy Chairman of the association.
