The Migration Directorate of the Republic of Turkey has officially canceled the conditional entry procedure as of February 2025, according to a statement from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.

Unofficial reports indicate that since the beginning of February, more than 150 foreign travelers have encountered difficulties at Turkish airports due to a lack of prior information regarding the new regulations.

Previously, foreign citizens who had overstayed their legal stay or had been denied a residence permit could re-enter Turkey through conditional entry and submit a new application within 10 days. However, this option has now been eliminated.

Under the new rules, individuals who overstayed their visa or were refused a residence permit will face temporary entry bans, ranging from 3 to 6 months, depending on their nationality.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan has urged Uzbek citizens traveling to Turkey to be mindful of these changes and ensure their documents are in order.

"Before traveling to Turkey, familiarize yourself with the country's migration regulations!
Ensure there are no issues with your documents!
If your legal stay has expired or your residence permit has been denied, leave the country on time to avoid being banned from returning!" the report states.
