The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has issued a warning to citizens amid ongoing protests in the city.

As a security measure, the Turkish government has introduced a temporary ban on public events in six districts, including Besiktas, where the Consulate General is located. The restrictions will remain in force until September 11. In addition, limits have been placed on the use of foreign messaging applications.

Uzbek citizens in Turkey are advised to stay away from crowded places, avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place, and strictly comply with local regulations.

In case of emergency, citizens can contact the Consulate General at: +90 (212) 909 08 04.

Earlier, it was reported that large-scale demonstrations began in front of the office of the opposition Republican People’s Party in Istanbul, following the dismissal of its former Istanbul branch leader Ozgur Çelik and the transfer of leadership to an interim council.
