Number of Uzbeks who died from counterfeit alcohol in Turkey reaches 14

On January 16, four more Uzbek citizens (all men) died in Turkey due to consuming counterfeit alcohol, as reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
As of January 17, the total number of Uzbeks who have died from poisoning has reached 14. Currently, 88 people in Turkey have been diagnosed with poisoning from counterfeit alcohol, of whom 37 have died. Among the victims are both local residents and foreigners.
Diplomats from the Consulate General have been monitoring the condition of those receiving treatment in the intensive care units of Istanbul hospitals for counterfeit alcohol poisoning. The condition of three of the patients is reported to be serious.
Additionally, it was reported that in the past three days, the number of people killed by fake alcohol in Istanbul has reached 30. During operations, a total of 32,862 liters of illegal alcohol were seized across eight districts, and nine suspects were arrested.
