About 10 kg of opium was found hidden in cement bags

The Khorezm Regional Department of the State Security Service, in collaboration with customs officials, discovered approximately 10 kg of opium concealed within cement bags during a rapid operation. The operation involved intercepting and examining a truck transporting cement products from Samarkand to Urgench.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that 9 kg 754 g of opium was concealed in 10 packages within the cement bags of the vehicle. The necessary procedures were followed to document this discovery.

Further inquiry uncovered that a person, born in 1971 and residing in the Urgut district, had ordered the truck. This individual, previously convicted three times for drug-related offenses, transported the substance disguised as cement products for sale in Khorezm.

The drugs are suspected to have been smuggled from the Republic of Tajikistan. The Khorezm Region's Criminal Investigation Department has initiated a criminal case against the individual under Article 28, 246, Part 2, and Article 25, 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code. The person is now facing preventive measures in the form of imprisonment.
